Bhavana and Gavin
BHAVANA AND GAVIN
3 to 4 months after my bridal shows, I tend to follow up with all the couples who visited my stand and engage in personal consultations meetings with couples. However, I received a surprise call from Bhavana who had collected my details at my stand but we didn’t get a chance to speak at the show. During our conversation she said she could see herself in my images and that was a great start. I asked Bhavana to talk me through her wedding plan and how her fiancé was getting ready for the big day. I realised they both were super geeky and avid outdoor people. They were into research and were working as scientists in the London City.
We connected well and had a long conversation. This was key for me to make my couple understand my vision for quality, style and personalisation. Bhavana totally understood my essence of photography, my ethics and ethos. I knew there and then that I would be working with her.
It was a full on wedding day with Civil, Wedding and Reception celebrations. My team and I were there promptly at 7:00 in morning to cover the bridal preps and family formals. Little did I know Bhavana’s 2 other sisters and 1 brother were all super intelligent, energetic and fun too. Gavin who was an avid cyclist was super competitive in his game, he had raced quite a few distance races. As this was going to be wedding of two cultures I knew it will be one amazing experience for me and this the couple.
Its started of with beautiful civil ceremony and the venue was a full house with their guests. It followed with an amazing outdoor ceremony where the temperature was about 30’C for the Aug day. It was great fun shooting under bright sunlight surrounded with so many butterflies, bees and bumble bees .Yes, no one got bitten and the ambience was perfectly grand !
I have always enjoyed working with priest Arjun Pandey and he officiated the Hindu wedding ceremony further by demystifying and translating Sanskrit Mantras into English and with his own twists of humor in between the ceremony he had set a tone of fun & merriment amongst the guests.
I will let the reception image speak for themselves.
Rather than posting images itself, I have chosen to share the album design here so the narration is going to be stronger and more vibrant. It’s a twin album concept, the 1st series of spreads are those of the civil ceremony & 2nd is Wedding & Reception combined.
Many thanks to Hitesh & Natalia for the help
